Application Deadline and Grant Review Meeting Schedule

The Job Training Fund Grant Review Committee will review eight applications per meeting. See the table below for deadlines and their respective meeting dates. The first eight applications received by the deadline will be scheduled for the next month's Job Training Fund meeting, so we recommend submitting early. Applications received after the first eight applications will be scheduled for the following month's review.

  • You will be contacted by the Job Training Fund administrator and/or staff to review your application. If the application is not complete, you will be asked to make corrections within three business days.
  • If your application is complete and is one of the first eight complete applications to be submitted by the published deadline, you will be placed on the agenda. We will contact you with time of your meeting (usually a 25-minute conversation) with the Grant Review Committee at our offices in Concord .
  • During your conversation with the Grant Review Committee, you will be asked some required questions that are listed on the Scoring Sheet. Following your conversation with the Grant Review Committee, the Committee will score your application. If your application has met a minimum average score, the Committee can make a recommendation to the Commissioner of the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED) for full or partial funding.
  • Upon approval by the Commissioner, a grant Agreement will be sent to you for the signature of the president/CEO of the company. Refer to Managing Your Grant for the additional requirements of this step, and remember that training cannot begin until the Agreement has been fully executed.
Wondering when to start the application process and how long each step takes? The graphic below illustrates a typical timeline, starting with identifying the need for training straight through to submitting your expenses and completing a final evaluation. For this example, the grant deadline is in June, and planning begins in March.
